About Kwanza Coxbaker
Kwanza craves a space for conversations about what wellness looks like outside of the binaries. They are committed to making holistic wellness information accessible to often overlooked populations. With these goals in mind, Kwanza has carved out a space in the wellness sector that blends intuition, research, and a deep respect for mother nature’s many gifts. Kwanza began building a relationship with plant medicines when their father was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. What started out as a way to offer wellness support to their father, birthed a passion for holistic health and plant medicine. They took their research a step further and began experimenting with growing plants, making tea blends, creating tinctures, blending salves and fermenting foods. After acquiring a bachelors of science degree in Psychology, their curiosity and commitment to better supporting their community urged them to seek more knowledge. They went on to complete a 1000-hour program in Massage Therapy/Holistic Health, a year-long Apprenticeship in Herbalism & Reiki Attunement, and a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. They are currently working towards their 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training and are studying to be a Mental Health Therapist. Kwanza is deeply fascinated by the resources mother nature has allowed us at our fingertips and acknowledges that access to these resources doesn’t often come easy for BIPOC LGBTQ+ and non-binary humans. They believe that since so much of our trauma happens in relationships, our healing must also occur in relationships. “We are all healers. Not because we are special, but because we are human” – Kwanza Cox-Baker
