About Briana Gonzalez

Welcome to my page! My name is Briana (or Bri), and I’m a Biracial Black therapist passionate about supporting BIPOC professionals, creatives, and working adults facing fear, sadness, low self-esteem, and unresolved trauma. I also work with women who are trying to manage the emotional and physical challenges of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Many clients I've worked with feel disconnected from their identity and passions, weighed down by past and present pain – and I help them grieve, heal, rebuild confidence and a healthier sense of self. In my telehealth sessions, I offer a space to hear the story of what brought you to a place of out-of-control despair, process your painful and troubling thoughts, feelings and experiences using evidenced-based therapeutic methods, and guide you to seeing how it's possible to overcome those difficult hurdles that get in the way of you living a meaningful life. The meaningful life I'd love to help you experience includes a life full of self-acceptance, hope, and the courage to connect back to and pursue the things that bring you joy, even in the midst of life's difficulties. My website has way more in-depth information on my practice and the services I offer, and how I strongly believe I can help you – as well as to connect with me so we can get to know each other through by scheduling a free 15-minutes phone consultation, to see if I may be a good fit for your needs: https://www.brianagonzalezlcsw.com/ I look forward to hearing how I can help support your needs, if any of the above resonates with you!

Experience

I’m a licensed psychotherapist, with over ten years of experience in the mental health field, providing online therapy to adults residing in the state of California(California License #93738). Prior to my private practice, I gained experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient, schools, sexual assault & IPV programs and community mental health. Along the way I’ve been trained in a variety of care modalities, including cognitive behavioral (and Trauma-Focused CBT), psychodynamic, culturally informed, mindfulness and compassion-focused, attachment, and acceptance and commitment approaches. I am currently in the process of training within the EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) modality to add onto my trauma-focused experiences and training.
